Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) Urology
The Portfolio Pathway (previously known as CESR – Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) is a route for doctors who haven’t completed a UK-approved training programme but wish to gain recognition as a consultant specialist in Urology.
This pathway enables doctors to demonstrate that their skills, knowledge, and experience are equivalent to those of a doctor who has completed a GMC-approved training programme in Urology. It's an excellent opportunity for experienced clinicians, particularly SAS doctors and IMGs, to gain entry onto the GMC’s Specialist Register.
At CESR Portfolio, we specialise in guiding Urology applicants through every step of this demanding but achievable process.
What Is the Portfolio Pathway in Urology?
The Portfolio Pathway assesses whether a doctor has met the outcomes of the 2021 Urology Curriculum without having completed a UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). Applicants must compile and submit a detailed portfolio of evidence mapped to the curriculum's Capabilities in Practice (CiPs) and Generic Professional Capabilities (GPCs).
Who is it for?
-
International medical graduates
-
Specialty doctors or associate specialists (SAS)
-
UK-based doctors who took an alternative training route
